Base Station Monitoring System
Monotoring Method
• Monitor and log RF performance of Base station
• Send the RF performance information to the server
• Alarm user for the BTS with unstable RF performance
Monitoring system to achieve the good quality of Base station
operation and maintenance in Wireless Network
(WCDMA/HSDPA/CDMA/EVDO/WiMAX

Advantages
• Reduce the cost for the BTU (Base station test unit) of base station
• Reduce the cost to maintain base stations due to monitoring remotely
• RF performance of base stations supplied by different system vendor
can be managed consistently by service provider
• Other information such as capacity, Tx power consumption and others
can be achieved by BMS

DM Functions
• Measured at antenna coupler port
• Check the degradation of Power AMP
• Check the unstable Tx power
• Measured at antenna coupler port
• Check the capacity(no. of active codes) by monitoring strength of each code
• Check the total call count
• Check the overhead channel power such as CPICH, PSCH, SSCH and others
• Measured at antenna coupler port.
• Check the return loss.
• Check the quality of RF cable connected Between Antenna and BTS.
• Measure the quality of Rx path at Rx antenna port.
• Check the uplink RF quality.
• Measure the spectrum of RF band.
• Measure the unwanted signal.
• If the modem is installed inside of BMS, FTP throughput can be measured.
• It connects to Data network and download/upload FTP.
• If the modem is installed inside of BMS, the information can be measured by using DM (Diagnostic Monitor) interface.
